About Me

Others have described me as a polymath.

I would say I'm just curious and creative.

how i contribute to our collective

Audio Books for Cognitively Challenged

Channeling my creative self, I write, design and produce audiobooks for listeners that experience mild cognitive challenges associated with age. These books provide caretakers and their loved ones in home or at assisted facilities, with a purposeful entertainment alternative that can spark imagination and engagement.

Among other things, I am also an Abstract Photographic Art

I have quite a deep portfolio of original photography that use city windows to build reflective abstractions, without the use of photoshop and such. Yeah, sounds a little wonky. But when you see them you may say "hey, that's pretty cool!" You can find them on Amazon, Apple Books and other places. Just type in my name.

AUDIOBOOK FOR COGNITIVELY CHALLENGED LISTENERS

Audio Books for Cognitively Challenged

My audio books are designed, written and produced to provide easy, engaging entertainment for listeners with mild to moderate cognitive challenges, or dementia.

For example, an elderly person that may experience difficulty with concentration, or perhaps unable to fully read a book themselves. The individual may struggle with a caretaker reading a book to them. My books seek to bridge this challenge, while providing caretakers with some down time while their loved one is being read a story that is designed to stimulate imagination.

Audiobook for cognitively challenged listeners

The Eyes of Penn, Episode 1

In this first episode of The Eyes of Penn, the listener is introduced to the rock band called The Johnsons, the protagonist of our story.

The Johnsons are a group of four musicians, whose love for music and fellowship withstand the elusive goal of commercial success. In just trying to make a living playing music, they find themselves being tested; having to stand up to powerful forces that collide with their world. A collision that occasionally require the members of the band to tap into hidden powers.

Respectively made for an adult with mild to moderate dementia, The Eyes of Penn

seek to deliver caretakers with much-needed down time, while their loved one is being read an entertaining story.

Chapters are short (2-3 minutes long), contain summaries prior to chapter start and  music interludes between the chapters are provided.  These are just a few of the applied techniques designed to keep the attention of a cognitively challenged listener, stimulate imagination and deliver sustained entertainment.

Available as a free download from your participating library via Libby app and others, where stocked your library. If you don't see it in Libby or other library book apps, contact your library to offer it.
